I promised you a cat bottom, so here it is! This one was taken from the very first post of my cat-of-the-day sketchbook blog: http://catoftheday.wordpress.com/2014/03/23/3/. It’s another mezzotint of course, printed from aluminium.
The print is only 8cm square by the way, but if you want to see it quite close up, just click on the image.
Here is the original sketch (below). Arthur is not really that stripy, but it was a starting point:
And below – a few of the stages of making the plate:
Looks like you have it licked! 🙂 Great work.
Haha …ewwww! thanks 🙂
Ooh, the print is going to be super! I like the sketch, too–the pink paw pads are purr-fect.
Oh that is the finished print – the black-and-white at the top, Mrs Daffodil, I hope you weren’t expecting it to change some more! Actually I admit may work on it a bit more but that’s always a hard call… not messing up what already works!
SIlly me. I was looking at the last photo (the finished mezzotint plate) and forgetting that I’d already seen the finished print! No disappointment here: it’s lovely just the way it is.
I’m loving these mezzotints. And thank you for the information about the plates 😀
Thank you Rosie! I think it’s time for the cat-with-dead-rat picture next – I hope Spartapuss will approve 😉
Oh she will!
That is fabulous.
thank you! 🙂
