Christmas at Moorlinch – exhibition & shopping event

Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th December 2016

Moorlinch, our village of fewer than 200 people, can boast several artists and arts & crafts businesses despite its size. Welcome to our annual pre-Christmas event: part exhibition, part Christmas shopping, part glass-blowing! I shall be opening my studio, hanging pictures on the walls, and have art, calendars, wrapping paper, cards and whatever else I can find, on display and for sale. Meanwhile up the road there will be more too see. The full line-up is:

Jenny Graham – stylised landscape paintings, drawings and photo-etchings of the West Country.
“showing a new series of my atmospheric paintings. Small and affordable for £50 each, only be available at this price from my studio. Also unframed etchings and landscape paintings. Some framed, some not. I will be offering tea/coffee and homemade cake as well. Lots of bargains.”

Anne Farmer – paintings
Paintings, cards and calendars – scenes of Somerset, Cumbria and more.

Somerset Stitch – creativity through stitch in Somerset and beyond
– Pam Martin’s new business just moved into Moorlinch
“Pop in to my Somerset Stitchery (previously The Pottery) and hand stitch a padded Christmas decoration in wool felt and hand-made metallic fabric – £3 per decoration. Fabric, haberdashery, patterns and a selection of locally stitched accessories will also be on sale.”

Silver Tree Crystal (Saturday only)
Glassblowing, including the opportunity to blow your own glass bauble. Pre-booking advised for this activity, but even if you don’t book, it’s still amazing to watch. Tel: 01458 211101, email:

Christmas at Moorlinch – flier

  1. Does this happen every year? Sadly I’m far away this time.

    1. The Christmas at Moorlinch event? …so far in some form for about 6 years or more, yes, but it’s not a certainty. You can always email or check my ‘Future exhibitions’ list in the menu to find out another year…

      1. Thanks Nancy! Yes, I meant the Christmas event! We used to visit when the vineyard was still open – we lived in the north then and would buy a case of wine to take home!

        1. Ah, then yes. No more wine sadly, but they are in the process of bottling the 18 year old brandy that has been sitting around in a barrel for …well, 18 years! The very last drop of (commercial) alcohol on site.

          1. That sounds rather lovely! will it be available?

            1. yes, on a limited basis. Not quite sure how because it may involve applying for a temporary licence to sell alcohol – because of course it’s all lapsed now. I’ll send you an email and put you in touch with Mum – that would be the best thing.

            2. oh, can’t see your email – if you email me at I’ll pass on the email that way.

Tell me what you think!
