Christmas at Moorlinch – exhibition & shopping event

Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th December 2016 Moorlinch, our village of fewer than 200 people, can boast several artists and arts & crafts businesses despite its size. Welcome to our annual pre-Christmas event: part exhibition, part Christmas shopping, part glass-blowing! Swimflakes swimming hat

‘Swimflakes’ wrapping paper & cards for sale on Etsy

The wrapping paper, cards and tags have been printed, and, if it’s not too early to mention such festive supplies, I have them for sale in my Etsy shop here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/nancyfarmer?ref=hdr&section_id=5955662 I would also have told you that had swimming hats for sale, printed up with the same design on them… but I now know the meaning of ‘selling like hot cakes’. ‘Swimflakes’ printing in progress…

You never know who’s reading your blog…  When I first canvassed opinions on gold or silver for the ‘Swimflakes’  wrapping paper, and whether tags should match, it was because I couldn’t afford to do everything that I wanted to.  A lot of people felt strongly about matching tags, more than I expected, and I was a little sad to have to decide to drop the gold and go for all silver… and then along came a comment on that post by Lynden Stowe of Vale Press ltd, offering to quote for the whole job. A most polite and fortuitous poaching…

The choice is between silver and gold, and also between white swimflakes against a metallic background or the other way around. I may be able to print two options – I can almost certainly afford to print either both gold or both silver options, or I can go with what I wanted originally – white on gold, and silver on white,…

Synchro Snowflakes

Welcome to this year’s edition of “Quick & Simple Christmas Product Ideas Which Actually Take At Least 10 Times Longer Than I Anticipated” I am not complaining, I am having fun, and I am also finding Adobe Illustrator indispensable for this project (and getting to grips with limited parts of it), and that makes me happy, because some weeks ago I paid for the annual licence for the whole of the Adobe creative suite, which, while it doesn’t actually require you to sign away your soul and your firstborn child baby cats, it does at least come closer to that…
